TIESFPC Joins Ericad Padasekhara Samithy for Fallowland Paddy Cultivation
TIES Farmer Producer Company Ltd. (TIES FPC), a Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO) promoted by the Tropical Institute of Ecological Sciences (TIES) and supported by NABARD, achieved a major milestone in its organisational journey by officially signing its first contract farming agreement with Ericadu Padasekhara Samithy, Puthupally.
This moment marks a significant step forward in TIES FPC’s mission to strengthen farmer collectives, promote sustainable agriculture, make productive use of fallow lands through systematic cultivation, and expand its footprint in community-based farming initiatives — all supported by scientific methods, good governance, and a commitment to the well-being of our shareholders and the environment.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Punnen Kurian, Managing Director of TIES FPC, along with the Director Board Members Shri. Prince Elias, Shri. Rathnakaran K. K., Shri. Abraham O. A., and Dr. Sebastian Joseph. The Convenor and Secretary of Ericadu Padasekhara Samithy, Shri. Jacob George, accompanied by Shri. Jacob Stephan, a member of the Padasekhara Samithy, arrived at the TIES FPC office for the official proceedings. They were warmly welcomed by Dr. Punnen Kurian, after which the gathering observed a moment of silent prayer seeking blessings for the new collaboration.
This was followed by a detailed discussion regarding the proposed land and cultivation plans. Both parties mutually agreed on the terms of contract farming, reaffirming a shared vision for productive, sustainable, and mutually beneficial agricultural development. The agreement was then formally signed by Dr. Punnen Kurian, on behalf of TIES FPC, and Shri. Jacob George, representing the Padasekhara Samithy.
The signing of this first contract farming agreement marks a transformative chapter for TIES FPC. It reflects the organisation’s commitment to empowering farmers, fostering collaboration, and adopting innovative agricultural models that enhance productivity and community welfare. With this strong partnership, TIES FPC is well-positioned to set a benchmark in contract farming and continue its journey towards sustainable agricultural growth and collective prosperity.
