TIESFPC Expands Fallow Land Farming Initiative to Kadaplamattom, Kottayam

The TIES Farmers Producer Company (TIESFPC) continues to advance its mission of transforming fallow lands into productive, safe food-producing ecosystems. Marking a significant milestone, the initiative has now expanded to Kadaplamattom Grama Panchayat in Kottayam District.


A stakeholder meeting was convened at Koodallur, graciously hosted at the residence of Prof. Joy Pallaattumadom. The session was inaugurated by Ms. Jeena Cyriac, President of Kadaplamattom Grama Panchayat. In her address, she highlighted that the newly elected Panchayat committee has already resolved to convert all fallow lands into productive agricultural zones. However, she acknowledged the need for a sustainable and structured implementation plan. Appreciating the TIESFPC model, she assured full support from the local body for its execution.


Mr. Thomas Pulikkiyil, President of the Kadaplamattom Service Co-operative Bank, shared valuable insights from his experience in the farming sector and extended wholehearted support from the bank.

  • Mr. Unnikrishnan, President, Maaridam Paadashekhara Samithy


Dr. Punnen Kurian, Managing Director of TIESFPC, and Sri. Shaji Mathew, Director, elaborated on the company’s approach to fallow land cultivation and its ongoing initiatives. Company shareholders Mr. Jose Maveli CA, and Mr. Binu (Star Vision) were also attended.


The meeting witnessed enthusiastic participation, with stakeholders expressing strong interest in joining the initiative. As an initial step, five acres of land at Koodallur have been offered for cultivation. The official agreement is expected to be finalized shortly, with plans underway to commence sugarcane cultivation in the coming days.


This expansion marks yet another step forward in TIESFPC’s vision of promoting sustainable agriculture, enhancing local livelihoods, and ensuring safe food production.
