TIES and TIESFPC Conduct Seminar and Exhibition on Sustainable Living and Farming as Part of Centenary Celebrations of St. George Jacobite Syrian Church, Kavumbhagam

The Tropical Institute of Ecological Sciences (TIES) and TIES Farmer Producer Company Ltd. (TIESFPC) jointly organised a seminar-cum-exhibition on “Sustainable Living & Farming” at St. George Jacobite Syrian Church, Kavumbhagam, Thiruvalla, Pathanamthitta district, as part of the church’s centenary celebrations. The programme brought together the church community and the public to promote environmentally responsible lifestyles, sustainable farming and healthy food choices. An exhibition of organic agricultural products of TIESFPC (MANNTHRA Brand Rice etc.) and TIES (Tropical Honey; Biopesticides and Growth promoters; Composting powder etc.), and sustainable living initiatives was also arranged, offering practical and locally relevant ideas. Fr. Severios Thomas inaugurated the programme, while P. V. Mathew presided. Prof. Punnen Kurian, Director of TIES and Managing Director of TIESFPC, and Prof. Nelson P. Abraham led the technical sessions on sustainable agriculture, ecological responsibility and community-oriented food production. Suresh Joyis, Laby Cheriyan, T. A. Shoshamma, T. A. Mathews and Rajan Karoor also addressed the gathering. The programme highlighted the importance of linking community celebrations with meaningful environmental action and encouraging sustainable practices in everyday life.
